India box office horror surge as 'Obsession' reaches Rs 70 crore

American supernatural horror film *Obsession* continued its strong run in India, adding Rs 7 crore on its third Saturday and bringing its 16‑day total to about Rs 70 crore gross. The film, backed by Blumhouse Productions and others, has become one of the most resilient imported Hollywood releases in the Indian market.

Meanwhile, Vikram Bhatt's *Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past* posted an Rs 8.85 crore net weekend at the Indian box office, a roughly 15 % rise from Saturday to Sunday. The opening weekend performance has been described as a respectable start for a modestly budgeted horror sequel, suggesting continued audience interest in the genre.

Both releases point to a noteworthy appetite for horror titles among Indian moviegoers, with *Obsession* achieving a rare high‑gross milestone and *Haunted 3D* delivering a solid debut.
