India celebrates Teachers Day honoring Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan

India celebrated Teachers Day on September 5, honoring the 138th birth anniversary of former President and scholar Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Various organizations and political groups held commemorative events across the country to recognize the vital role of educators in nation-building.

In Asansol, the BJP Teachers Cell organized a program at Rabindra Bhavan featuring cultural rituals and tributes. Attendees, including Minister Agnimitra Paul and several local legislators, honored teachers for their dedication to shaping the next generation. Similarly, in Patna, the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee held a ceremony at Sadaqat Ashram, where leaders emphasized that education is the foundation of character building and national progress.

The celebrations also highlighted the historical importance of the teacher-student bond in Indian tradition, referencing the ancient 'Guru-Shishya' relationship. Discussions touched upon the role of teachers within the framework of the New Education Policy 2020 and their contribution to the journey toward a developed India.
