India clears Rajnandgaon Electronics Manufacturing Cluster project

The Government of India approved the establishment of an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) in Rajnandgaon district, Chhattisgarh. The project is expected to attract more than Rs 3,000 crore in investments and generate around 9,000 direct and indirect jobs. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology authorized central financial assistance of Rs 210.56 crore for a total estimated cost of Rs 432.08 crore.

The cluster will be built on about 306 acres by the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation, offering ready‑built factory spaces, reliable power and water, and warehousing facilities. Four anchor companies from the semiconductor, electric‑vehicle and smart‑electronics sectors have already shown interest. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the approval, noting the project’s alignment with Make in India, Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
