Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya cleared for Afghanistan ODI series

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) cleared former captain Rohit Sharma and all‑rounder Hardik Pandya to play in the three‑match One‑Day International (ODI) series against Afghanistan after they passed fitness tests at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. The series begins on 13 June at the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, with the second match in Lucknow on 17 June and the final fixture in Chennai on 20 June. Virat Kohli remains unavailable due to injury, and the squad also includes new faces such as Prince Yadav, Gurur Barar and Harsh Dubey. This clearance strengthens India’s line‑up ahead of its target to build momentum toward the 2027 Cricket World Cup.

The Afghanistan side, which India beat comprehensively in a lone Test earlier this year, will host India for the ODIs, providing both teams an opportunity to assess players ahead of upcoming global tournaments.
