Indonesia men's volleyball team clinches first AVC Cup title

The Indonesia men’s volleyball team won the AVC Men’s Cup 2026, beating South Korea 3‑0 (34‑32, 25‑16, 25‑23) in the final held at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Ahmedabad, India. It is Indonesia’s first ever title in the Asian‑level tournament.

Coach Reidel Toiran, who took charge only days before the event, was later confirmed as head coach through a contract extension lasting until the Asian Games later that year. The victory prompted the Indonesian Volleyball Federation (PBVSI) to award a total bonus of Rp 900 million, with each player and staff member receiving Rp 50 million. South Korean media expressed surprise at the result.

The win marks a milestone for Indonesian volleyball, raising the sport’s profile nationally and signaling a new competitive era in Asian volleyball.
