India clinches two golds at Asian Under‑17 wrestling championships in Vietnam
At the Under‑17 Asian Wrestling Championships held in Da Nang, Vietnam, Indian women’s wrestlers won two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal. Di᳙ksha (43 kg) defeated Asangaryeva of Kyrgyzstan 6‑0 in the final, while Garima (73 kg) beat Namtsetsog Baatbold of Mongolia 18‑6 to secure the second gold. Nikita (49 kg) and Antara (65 kg) each earned silver, and Sakshi (57 kg) took bronze after a victory over Arina Kuanishova of Kazakhstan.
The Indian team’s overall performance across freestyle, women’s wrestling and Greco‑Roman categories yielded 27 medals – 11 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze – continuing a strong continental campaign that earlier saw the Indian men’s freestyle squad win the Under‑23 Asian title in the same city.
