India clinches Youth Hockey5s Asian gold while Pakistan secures runner‑up spot and World Cup berth

The 2026 Hockey5s Asian Championships were held in Muscat, Oman. In the men's youth final, the Indian sub‑junior team defeated Pakistan 3‑1 to claim the inaugural Youth Hockey5s Asian title, with goals from Romit Pal, captain Ketan Kushwaha and Shahrukh Ali. Pakistan's senior men’s side earned silver at the 2026 Men’s Asian Hockey5s Championship, also in Muscat, securing a place at the 2026 FIH Hockey5s World Cup. Forward Adeel was named Player of the Tournament and PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani hailed the achievement as a milestone for Pakistani hockey.

In the women's youth competition, India finished second after a 2‑4 loss to China in the final, with players such as Pushpa Manjhi and Diya contributing. Both India and China qualified for the Youth Hockey5s World Cup. Hockey India announced cash rewards for the men’s gold‑medal players (₹2 lakhs) and women’s silver‑medal players (₹1 lakh).
