India confirms casualties and safety of nationals in Saudi and Yemen incidents

India has confirmed that one of its citizens was killed and others injured following attacks on Saudi Arabian infrastructure. An attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam resulted in one Indian death and two injuries. Additionally, a drone strike targeting the Saudi Aramco-operated Shaybah oilfield in the Eastern Province injured another Indian national.

Separately, the Indian Embassy in Yemen reported that 14 Indian nationals aboard a yacht involved in an incident near Zuqar Island in the Red Sea are safe. Houthi rebels claimed Saudi forces attacked the vessel, though the Indian government is still working to establish the exact circumstances of the event. The embassy stated the individuals are believed to be located in the Hodeidah region.

Amidst these security incidents, thousands of Indian pilgrims are reportedly stranded in Saudi Arabia after airlines suspended flights due to ongoing Houthi attacks on Saudi airports. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has condemned the attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure, describing them as ‘unacceptable’.
