India cricket appoints Shubhadeep Ghosh as new fielding coach

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has overhauled the Indian men's cricket team's coaching staff, naming Shubhadeep Ghosh as the new fielding coach under head coach Gautam Gambhir. Ghosh replaces T. Dilip after criticism of India's fielding in recent series, including the England and Ireland tour.

Ghosh brings extensive experience from the National Cricket Academy, the Centre of Excellence, and previous roles with the Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, and the Indian women's side. His appointment is part of a broader effort to improve athleticism and technical standards in India's fielding department.

The move signals BCCI's intent to address performance gaps ahead of upcoming international fixtures and the 2024‑25 ICC events.
