India cricket team revamps squad after injury setbacks and England T20 defeats

Star leg‑spinner Varun Chakaravarty suffered a hamstring injury and was ruled out of India’s three‑match T20 series in Zimbabwe, with Ravi Bishnoi named as his replacement. Separately, all‑rounder Harshit Rana was also sidelined, and Prince Yadav was called up for the upcoming England ODI series.

India then endured a whitewash in the five‑match T20 series against England, losing all four completed games after the first was abandoned due to rain. The defeats saw England overtake India as the ICC T20 ranking No. 1 team. Following the series loss, discussions have focused on the lineup for the forthcoming ODI series in England, with speculation that senior players such as Krishnappa, Prince Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav and Ishan Kishan may be dropped from the playing eleven. Captain Shreyas Aiyar will lead a revamped side as India seeks to reverse its recent form.
