India advances in Junior Asia Cup hockey tournaments

India's junior national hockey teams achieved significant victories at the Junior Asia Cup in Moqi, China.

The men's team secured a place in the final after a 3-1 victory over Malaysia. Captain Anmol Ekka led the performance with two goals from penalty corners, bringing his tournament total to 16. Goalkeeper Vivek Lakra provided critical defense, including a successful penalty stroke save, to maintain India's lead despite the team playing with 10 men for portions of the match due to yellow cards. India will face the winner of the Pakistan vs South Korea semi-final for their sixth overall title.

In the women's tournament, the junior team advanced to the semi-finals following a dominant 19-0 win against Pakistan in the quarter-finals. India maintained relentless pressure throughout, scoring five goals in each of the first two quarters before adding three and six in the final stages. Puja Malik recorded a hat-trick during the match. The women's team will next compete against the winner of the Korea and Malaysia matchup.
