India defense exports reach record 3.56 billion euros

India's defense exports have reached a record high of 3.56 billion euros in the 2025-26 fiscal year, marking a 63 percent increase from the 2.39 billion euros recorded in 2024-25. The country's primary markets for military equipment include the United States, France, Armenia, Maldives, Mauritius, and Seychelles.

The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile has emerged as a leading product in India's export portfolio. Significant orders for BrahMos batteries have been delivered to the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia, with the value of these three orders alone estimated to exceed one billion euros. Other notable exports include artillery systems, mortars, radars, fast patrol boats, Dhruv light multipurpose helicopters, and armored vehicles for Morocco.

India is also deepening its strategic partnership with Armenia. Following a visit by Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh to Yerevan in August, the two nations signed a memorandum of understanding focused on defense research, development, innovation, and joint production. This cooperation began in March 2020 when Armenia became the first foreign customer for India's Swathi artillery reconnaissance radars.
