India Department of Commerce hosts EU CBAM awareness session

The Indian Department of Commerce organized an awareness session in New Delhi to prepare exporters for the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (EU CBAM) regulations. The session, held in collaboration with the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies and the Engineering Export Promotion Council, focused on the technical aspects of the CBAM framework.

Participants, including approximately 100 exporters and industry stakeholders, received guidance on the applicability of the regulations, the calculation of embedded emissions, and data reporting requirements. The session included practical case studies specifically targeting the iron, steel, and aluminium sectors to help businesses understand compliance and verification mechanisms in international trade.
