India sends 8 MT of life-saving medicines to Bolivia
India has dispatched eight metric tonnes of life-saving and essential medicines to Bolivia to support the nation's public healthcare capacity. The Ministry of External Affairs described the move as "extending a helping hand to a Global South partner."
India's Ambassador to Bolivia, Rohit Vadhwana, formally handed over the consignment at El Alto Airport in La Paz. The ceremony was attended by Bolivian officials, including Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa Lunda and Minister of Health and Sports Maria Rene Castro Quisicanqui.
This medical assistance follows a previous donation in July last year, during which India provided 300,000 doses of measles and rubella vaccines. The aid reinforces bilateral relations that were discussed earlier this year during the India AI Impact Summit, where Bolivian Vice President Edmand Lara Montano and Indian Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan met to explore cooperation in sectors such as solar energy, critical minerals, digitalization, and higher education.
