India dominates 2026 Kampala International Future Series

The 2026 Kampala International Badminton World Federation Future Series, held at the Lugogo Indoor Arena from September 24 to 27, concluded with India dominating the tournament. India secured four out of the five available titles, winning the Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, and Women’s Doubles.

Uganda achieved notable success with one silver medal in the Mixed Doubles, earned by top-seeded pair Muzafaru Lubega and Gladys Mbabazi, and four bronze medals across various categories. Malaysia took the gold in the Mixed Doubles category.

Kenya secured a bronze medal in its first appearance in an Airbadminton indoor competition. Edwin Akwanyi and Edwin Waitathu finished third in the men’s doubles, while Erick Ngumo and Jacinta Sengera earned bronze in the mixed doubles. Kenyan head coach Brijesh Sonigra noted the team's potential and emphasized the need for further investment in infrastructure.
