India donates 346 books to Bogotá public library

The Embassy of India in Colombia has donated 346 books to the Julio Mario Santo Domingo Public Library in the Suba locality of Bogotá. The initiative was coordinated through the Internationalization Office of the Suba Local Mayor's Office and involved representatives from the Bogotá Public Library Network (BibloRed).

The collection features diverse subjects including poetry, history, biographies, religion, botany, and various aspects of Indian culture, society, and thought. The donation includes English-language texts, with 60 titles specifically designated for children, aimed at increasing access to foreign language content for library users.

The event included cultural performances, featuring traditional Indian dances alongside Andean regional dances to celebrate the meeting of the two traditions. Officials noted that the exchange strengthens international cooperation and promotes intercultural dialogue between India and Colombia.
