India EPF 8.25% Interest Credit Now Viewable via UMANG App
The Indian government has approved an 8.25% interest rate for employees' Provident Fund (EPF) for the current financial year. The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is updating member passbooks across the country to reflect the new credit.
EPF subscribers can verify the credited interest in real time through the UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New‑age Governance) app. Users must log in with their 12‑digit Universal Account Number (UAN) and a one‑time password sent to their registered mobile number, then select the EPFO service, choose "View Passbook" and review the "Interest Credited" entry.
The process is batch‑updated by regional EPFO offices, so if the credit does not appear immediately, members are advised to wait for the next update. The UMANG app provides a secure, mobile‑first interface, eliminating the need to visit EPFO offices.
