Indian politicians clash over alleged Punjab paper leak

BJP Member of Parliament Arvind Dharmapuri accused the Congress party of using the recent paper‑leak controversy to attack the government. He supported the anti‑paper‑leak bill, saying it would protect the interests of about two million students affected by recent exam paper leaks and improve the transparency of the examination system. Dharmapuri also criticised Congress for not fulfilling earlier promises on fee‑reimbursement schemes in Telangana.

Aam Aadmi Party senior leader Manish Sisodia rejected claims of a paper leak in Punjab, stating that only a few students attempted cheating with Bluetooth‑enabled smart pens and were promptly dealt with by university authorities. He accused the BJP and Congress of spreading false rumors through paid social‑media trolls, alleging that these attacks aim to damage the AAP government’s reputation.
