India expands DigiLocker use to bus passes and airport entry
Gujarat’s Divyang Bus Pass has been integrated with DigiLocker, earning national recognition for improving accessibility for persons with disabilities. The digital pass lets eligible users retrieve their bus pass through the DigiLocker platform, reducing reliance on physical documents and streamlining verification for transport authorities.
The Digi Yatra airport app now supports the addition of a Driving Licence via DigiLocker, giving travelers an alternative to Aadhaar for contactless airport entry. Passengers can store both documents in the Digi Yatra wallet and select either as the primary credential for identity matching with boarding passes. Both initiatives illustrate India’s push to digitise public services, enhance convenience and security, and broaden the range of government‑issued IDs usable in everyday travel.
