India expands economic ties with New Zealand and Dubai
The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) held an interactive session in New Delhi to discuss strengthening trade and investment between India and New Zealand. Discussions centered on the India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and opportunities for economic engagement. Key topics included energy, water, and food security, as well as potential cooperation in community development and housing models through the exchange of business management expertise.
Separately, Dubai Chamber President Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah reported a significant rise in Indian business presence in Dubai. By the end of June 2026, the number of active Indian member companies in the Dubai Chamber reached 85,841, following the addition of over 7,500 new firms in the first half of the year.
Dubai’s non-oil trade with India reached a record $60.6 billion in 2025. Between 2016 and 2025, India attracted $9.3 billion in investment from Dubai-based companies across 147 projects, while Dubai saw nearly $8.8 billion in Indian investments, including $2.3 billion in foreign direct investment in 2025 alone.
