India expands space sector partnerships with US and Australia

At the Bengaluru Space Expo, officials highlighted growing international interest in India's space ecosystem. US Ambassador Sergio Gor stated that the United States and India are transitioning from mere cooperation to 'co-creation' in the space sector. This shift involves jointly designing instruments, co-funding startups, and building a commercial corridor between American industry and Indian innovators.

Simultaneously, Australia is seeking to deepen its space partnership with India. Australian Trade and Investment Commissioner Nathan Davis described the relationship as complementary rather than competitive. He noted that while India offers a mature manufacturing ecosystem, Australia provides advantages such as 'vast, dark, quiet skies' which are beneficial for launch and re-entry services. Both nations are looking to leverage their respective strengths to benefit their mutual space ecosystems.
