JSW SA adopts recovery plan to boost coal production and cut costs

Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa (JSW SA) has adopted a comprehensive recovery program for the years 2026–2035. The strategic plan aims to improve long-term profitability, ensure financial liquidity, and adapt the company's scale to current market and operational conditions.

Key objectives of the program include increasing coal production from 13 million tons in 2025 to 14 million tons by 2029, with a specific focus on increasing the share of coking coal. The company also intends to reduce the cash cost of coal mining from 738 PLN to 560 PLN per ton by 2029.

To achieve these efficiency goals, JSW plans to optimize operational costs and adjust its workforce. Employment is expected to decrease from over 20,000 employees to fewer than 16,000. Other measures include limiting investment expenditures, selling selected assets, and securing prepayments to stabilize the group's financial situation.
