India Food Regulators Recall Raisins and Sauce Over Safety Concerns

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) ordered a nationwide recall of Sun Organic Industries' "Wonderland Raisins" after laboratory tests in Ghaziabad and NIFTEM‑K found pesticide residues above the permissible limits. The recall, issued under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, requires the company to withdraw the entire batch, submit status reports and implement corrective measures.

Separately, the Food and Drugs Administration of Jammu and Kashmir prohibited the sale of a snack dressing batch produced by Nirmal Fruits Products, deeming it unsafe and misbranded. The ban, also under the Food Safety and Standards Act, extends across the Union Territory and mandates immediate withdrawal of the product from retailers and distributors.

Both actions aim to protect public health, with authorities urging consumers to avoid the affected products and report any sales of the recalled items.
