India-funded Rapti Eye Hospital operation theatre inaugurated in Nepal's Dang

On July 31, the double‑storey Operation Theatre Building of Rapti Eye Hospital in Tulsipur, Dang district, Lumbini Province, was inaugurated. The ceremony was led by Gitanjali Brandon, Counsellor of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, and Tikaram Khadka, Mayor of Tulsipur Sub‑Metropolitan City.

The facility was constructed with financial assistance from the Government of India under its High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) scheme, marking the seventh such project in Dang. Indian officials highlighted that the new theatre will strengthen eye‑care services in the region and form part of a broader programme that has implemented nearly 600 projects across all seven Nepali provinces, including numerous ambulances and school buses donated to health and education institutions.

The inauguration underscores continued IndiaNepal cooperation in health infrastructure and broader development initiatives.
