India gold and silver prices plunge
On Wednesday, amid heightened regional tension and uncertainty in global financial markets, gold and silver prices in India fell sharply. At the Multi Commodity Exchange of India, gold opened at ₹149,926 per 10 grams and dropped about 2 % to a daily low of ₹149,500. Silver opened at ₹234,009 per kilogram and slipped roughly 2 % to ₹233,400.
By the time of reporting, gold was trading near ₹150,279 per 10 grams after a loss of ₹2,154, while silver was around ₹23,500 per kilogram after a decline of ₹3,328. The Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association recorded pure gold at ₹152,519 per 10 grams and pure silver at ₹245,938 per kilogram.
Market analysts said the precious‑metal sector has faced continuous pressure in recent days. They identified ₹152,000 per 10 grams as a key resistance for gold; a break above could lift prices to ₹154,000‑₹155,000, while a drop below ₹149,000 could push gold toward ₹148,000. For silver, the ₹238,000‑₹240,000 per kilogram range is seen as immediate resistance, with a fall below ₹232,000 potentially driving prices toward ₹228,225.
