India highlights Northeast peace and maritime security under Modi

The Indian Union Cabinet has passed a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years of leadership, specifically highlighting peace and development efforts in Northeast India. The resolution notes a strategic shift in the region from purely security-centric responses to a model emphasizing political dialogue, the rehabilitation of armed groups, and improved connectivity to integrate the area with the national economy.

Separately, during the third edition of the 'Sagarmanthan: The Great Oceans Dialogue' in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi advocated for a “free, open, secure and rules-based maritime order.” Addressing maritime leaders and policymakers, he emphasized that global ocean developments impact all nations and called for international cooperation to ensure oceans serve as a source of shared prosperity and ecological health.
