India implements technology-driven pension reforms to increase efficiency

Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh stated that technology-driven pension services in India have increased efficiency while reducing manpower and financial costs. Speaking at the 9th National ANUBHAV Awards Ceremony and the 60th Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop in New Delhi, Singh emphasized that the government is continuously reforming pension rules to align with changing social requirements.

Key digital initiatives highlighted include the Digital Life Certificate, Face Authentication, Pension Adalats, Bhavishya, and the Integrated Pensioners’ Portal. These tools aim to simplify processing and reduce physical verification needs. Singh noted that reforms have also addressed social changes, such as amending family pension provisions to benefit divorced and separated daughters.

DoPPW Secretary Nivedita Shukla Verma reported that the ANUBHAV portal has recorded over 14,000 shared experiences, and the 2026 awards received a record-breaking 2,000 nominations.
