India joins US-led global 6G telecommunications alliance
India has joined the United States and 24 other nations in a global initiative to guide the development and deployment of next-generation 6G telecommunications networks. The agreement was finalized following a bilateral meeting between US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Indian Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the G20 Innovation Ministerial held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. According to the US Department of Commerce, the collaboration aims to ensure that next-generation networks reflect shared security interests, strengthen global competitiveness, and drive innovation in 6G technology.
