India's petrol and diesel prices unchanged on July 12‑13, 2026
Across major Indian cities, retail fuel prices stayed flat on July 12 and 13, 2026. In Delhi, petrol was ₹102.12 per litre and diesel ₹95.20; Mumbai posted ₹111.21 for petrol and ₹97.83 for diesel; Chennai’s rates were ₹107.77 and ₹99.55 respectively. Similar stability was reported in Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru and other metros. The price hold follows the latest round of hikes that began on May 15, which have lifted retail pumps by roughly ₹7.5 per litre since then.
Global crude prices slipped, with Brent settling at $76.01 a barrel after a brief decline linked to US‑Iran tensions and expectations of resumed shipments through the Strait of Hormuz. The Indian government, through Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, reiterated plans to introduce an E85 bio‑fuel that could be about ₹20 cheaper per litre than regular petrol, though its use will be limited to compatible vehicles. Meanwhile, OPEC+ announced an additional 1.88 million barrels per day of output from August 2026, but no immediate impact on domestic fuel prices was observed.
