India launches nationwide cloud and AI skilling initiative for 150,000 youth

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Cultus Education, has launched a nationwide initiative to provide cloud and artificial intelligence training to 150,000 learners across India.

The program is designed to expand technological access to youth in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, aiming to bridge the digital divide beyond major metropolitan areas. While 150,000 participants will receive foundational AI and cloud literacy through digital training, 10,000 individuals will undergo the intensive, job-oriented AWS re/Start program to prepare them for direct employment.

Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary stated that equipping youth with future-ready skills is essential to the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision. The initiative will be delivered online and includes a National Hackathon to allow participants to demonstrate their solutions to industry stakeholders.
