India hikes commercial LPG cylinder prices by up to ₹42

On 1 June 2026 India’s oil‑marketing companies raised the price of 19‑kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹42 in Delhi, taking the retail rate to ₹3,113.50, and by ₹53.50 in Kolkata, reaching ₹3,255.50. The 5‑kg Free‑Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder also saw an ₹11 increase, now costing ₹821.50 in Delhi. Domestic household cylinders were left unchanged, offering relief to families.

The hike follows a series of monthly revisions that have lifted commercial LPG from ₹1,691.50 in January to the current level, driven by volatility in global energy markets and the West Asia conflict. Officials say India’s strategic reserves are sufficient. Bihar minister Ram Kripal Yadav called the increase “normal”, citing the country’s reliance on imported petroleum, while Uttar Pradesh minister Om Prakash Rajbhar said the step helps curb hoarding. The higher fuel cost is expected to raise operating expenses for hotels, restaurants, caterers and other food‑service businesses across the country.
