India maritime sector expands through new partnerships and technical milestones
India’s maritime sector is seeing increased activity through new partnerships and technical milestones. Synergy Marine Group and Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) have entered a partnership to collaborate on shipbuilding and ship repair projects. This collaboration aims to combine CSL’s infrastructure with Synergy Marine’s global ship management experience to support India’s goal of expanding its domestic shipbuilding capacity and becoming a regional maritime services hub.
Separately, Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) successfully completed a precision docking operation involving three vessels simultaneously at its Ship Repair Complex. The vessels—CG Platform, LGT Navya, and Samudra Ratnakar—were positioned with extremely tight clearances, including one vessel positioned only 40 centimetres above the dock floor. The operation demonstrated the shipyard’s technical capacity for complex, high-precision repair requirements.
