India marks 150 years of Vande Mataram with mass singing
To mark the 150th anniversary of the composition of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’, a massive nationwide event titled ‘Namami Bharatam’ was organized on September 25. Under the leadership of Vidya Bharati, more than one crore students, teachers, parents, and citizens participated in a synchronized mass singing of the song.
The event took place simultaneously at over 25,000 locations across India at 11:00 AM. The scale of the participation, which reached approximately 26 lakh schools, has been submitted for certification by both the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records.
In Delhi alone, the program was held at over 300 locations, with significant gatherings at sites such as Saraswati Bal Mandir and PGDAV College ground. The initiative aimed to foster national unity and connect the younger generation with the historical significance of the song in India's struggle for independence.
