India names 15‑member Test squad for Sri Lanka series, adds uncapped spinner Saransh Jain

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15‑member squad for the two‑match Test series against Sri Lanka in August 2026. Shubman Gill has been appointed captain with KL Rahul as vice‑captain. Veteran all‑rounder Ravindra Jadeja returns after recovering from a tennis‑elbow injury.

Off‑spinner Saransh Jain earned his maiden Test call‑up, replacing injured Washington Sundar. The squad also includes Jasprit Bumrah and batsman Sai Sudharsan, whose participation will depend on fitness clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence.

The first Test will be played at Galle International Stadium from 15‑19 August, followed by the second at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo, from 23‑27 August. The series forms part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025‑27, with India currently fifth in the standings on 52 points.
