India's ceasefire proposal called ‘most comprehensive’ by Ukraine

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has announced that Kyiv is evaluating four distinct international ceasefire proposals to end the conflict with Russia. He described the proposal from India as the ‘most comprehensive’ among the options currently on the table.

The four proposals involve different strategic focuses:

• India: A broad framework described as the most comprehensive. • Turkey and Egypt: A joint proposal focused on a truce in the Black Sea to facilitate grain and agricultural transport. • United States: A framework centered on an energy truce.

Sybiha indicated that Ukraine is prepared to consider a truce that combines both energy infrastructure protection and Black Sea security. He noted that any agreement should include a halt to attacks on energy facilities and port infrastructure. Additionally, the Ukrainian government remains open to discussing an unconditional ceasefire along the current line of contact.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed support for India’s involvement, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ‘very good ideas’ for finding a mutually acceptable peaceful resolution to the conflict.
