India officials warn of alleged ISI doxxing and psychological warfare campaign
Indian intelligence officials have issued warnings regarding an alleged psychological warfare campaign conducted by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The campaign reportedly utilizes doxxing, online harassment, and intimidation to incite fear and panic among Indian citizens, public officials, and security personnel.
According to officials, the ISI is allegedly recruiting youth and employing hackers to extract sensitive personal data, including phone numbers, physical locations, photographs, and bank details. This information is reportedly intended to be posted online alongside threatening messages to undermine public confidence.
An Intelligence Bureau official noted that while some efforts focus on state propaganda, the doxxing tactic is designed to create widespread anxiety. Officials mentioned that similar tactics had previously been observed in Jammu and Kashmir, targeting specific groups such as Kashmiri Pandits and migrant workers.
