India on alert for potential Pakistani provocations along the LoC

Indian intelligence agencies have issued warnings regarding potential provocations by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC). Officials suggest that Islamabad may seek to create external tensions to divert domestic attention from mounting unrest in Balochistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Reports indicate that Pakistan has deployed approximately 250 Chinese-made SH-15 155mm truck-mounted self-propelled howitzers near the Indian border in sectors including Sialkot and Gujranwala. These mobile units allow for rapid shoot-and-scoot operations within a 30-40 km range.

Additionally, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has reportedly overhauled its overground worker (OWG) network in Jammu and Kashmir. Following setbacks from India’s Operation Sindoor, the ISI is allegedly recruiting younger operatives, including teenagers, to carry out decentralized tasks. This new strategy involves using a chain of operatives to transport small consignments, such as pistols, to make detection by security agencies more difficult.
