India opposition criticizes government over border security and Delhi protests
Activists and opposition leaders in India have criticized the Modi government, alleging that national security is being compromised by prioritizing the suppression of internal protests over border defense.
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke argued that deploying security forces to turn Delhi into a “fortress” against citizens undermines national defense, particularly amidst rising tensions with China in Arunachal Pradesh. Dipke noted that while the ITBP has highlighted challenges regarding China’s military modernization and ongoing face-offs, the government appears focused on preventing protests in the capital.
In addition to border concerns, Dipke raised questions regarding the handling of the Matthew VanDyke case, involving an American national accused of training armed groups in Myanmar. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi called for accountability from the Union Home, Defence, and External Affairs Ministers regarding India’s approach toward China.
