Modi recognized Vesalu Puro, a flower grower from Nagaland's Phek district, who transformed a childhood interest into a commercial venture. After receiving scientific training, Puro expanded her cultivation, with her products now reaching major urban markets like Delhi and Mumbai.

The Prime Minister also noted the rising popularity of avocado cultivation, which has transitioned from an unfamiliar fruit to a staple in premium health markets. He cited farmers in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka who are benefiting from this shift.

Specific examples included Varadaraj from Kadappa, who produced nearly four tonnes of avocados, and Chandrashekharan in Kodaikanal, who increased his income by cultivating the fruit on half a hectare. In Chikkamagaluru, farmers are integrating avocado production with existing coffee and black pepper plantations to diversify their income streams.
