India poised to add $2.4 trillion in financial wealth by 2030
A Boston Consulting Group (BCG) report projects that India will create more than ₹190 lakh crore (about $2.3‑$2.4 trillion) in financial wealth between now and 2030, making it the largest wealth‑creation driver among emerging markets. The surge is linked to strong economic growth, rising household incomes, higher savings rates and expanding participation in capital markets, with affluent and emerging high‑net‑worth individuals growing rapidly.
Despite the wealth boom, a large share of household assets remains tied up in bank deposits, gold and real estate, leaving the affluent segment—those with investable assets between $250,000 and $5 million—underserved by professional wealth‑management services. The report highlights a substantial opportunity for banks, asset managers and private‑wealth firms to provide advisory, portfolio construction, retirement and tax planning to this expanding investor base.
