Delhi Police rescue kidnapped 17-year‑year‑old girl and arrest suspect

Delhi Police received a missing‑person complaint on June 23 after a 17‑year‑old girl was reported missing since June 20. A special team from Gokalpuri police station, led by SHO Umed Singh, carried out technical surveillance, electronic evidence analysis and local intelligence gathering. The team located the girl in northeast Delhi and arrested 22‑year‑old Karan of Uttam Nagar, charging him under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 64(1) and 87 and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act section 4. The minor was safely returned to her family and provided legal assistance, while the investigation continues.

Police noted a similar successful recovery a month earlier by the Anti‑Human‑Trafficking Unit of Delhi Police’s Outer North District, which had also traced and reunited a missing minor with her family.
