Indian police seize large cannabis shipments in Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Assam

Police in three Indian states carried out major drug‑smuggling busts in early July. In Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh, officers tracked two cannabis suppliers from Tamil Nadu to the state, arresting them after a coordinated investigation that also recovered 23 kg of ganja, a motorcycle, mobile phones and seized assets worth roughly 1.26 million rupees.

In Odisha, the Excise Department intercepted a truck in Bhubaneswar carrying about seven quintals of ganja that was being moved from Kandhamal to other states, seizing the vehicle and arresting three suspects.

In Guwahati, Assam, police recovered more than 47 kg of marijuana from two raids in Hatigaon and Beharbari, detaining three alleged peddlers and continuing investigations to expose the wider supply network.
