India police seize 10 kg cannabis in Maharashtra and destroy ₹169 crore drugs in Rajasthan
On August 8, 2026, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Nanded unit carried out Operation Narcotics on the Nagavalli Express between Mudkhed and Hazur Sahib Nanded stations in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The operation seized 10.736 kg of dry cannabis, estimated at ₹5.37 lakh, and led to the arrest of two smugglers. A concurrent security sweep at the station also detained a suspect attempting to steal passenger luggage.
In Shri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, police acting under the NDPS Act destroyed seized narcotics valued at roughly ₹169 crore. The disposal, overseen by IG Om Prakash and SP Harishankar, included 84 kg of heroin, 672 kg of doda paste, 3 kg of cannabis and more than 1,600 illegal pills, covering 101 separate cases.
