India police seize 1.3 kg of liquid gold in Goa smuggling bust

The Goa Crime Branch intercepted a smuggling operation that involved roughly 1.3 kg of liquid gold, valued at about 1.5 crore rupees in the international market. The gold was recovered from two suspects from Kerala—Hassan Niyaz, who arrived from Dubai on a Qatar Airways flight, and Mohammed Kunhi, who travelled by train and then by local transport. Both were apprehended in the Dargal Sukhe Kulan area of Goa after acting on a tip-off.

The seized gold was found concealed in specially‑made pockets inside the suspects' clothing. After the seizure, the detainees were handed over to the Morumugao customs authorities for further investigation into the wider smuggling network.
