India police seize heroin and MDMA worth over Rs 20 crore in drug busts
Police in Anantnag district, Jammu & Kashmir, arrested suspect Ishtiyak Ahmad Moghal after a routine checkpoint uncovered four packets of heroin concealed in a vehicle. The total haul reached 2.613 kg of brown‑sugar heroin, valued at roughly Rs 20 crore in the international market, marking one of the largest recent seizures in the region.
In Bengaluru, the Anti‑Narcotic Wing of the Central Crime Branch arrested four individuals, including three Nigerian nationals, following a tip‑off. Officers seized 10.27 kg of MDMD crystals worth about Rs 21 crore and 2.044 kg of hydroponic ganja valued at Rs 2 crore. The detainees had entered India on medical and tourist visas and were linked to drug supplies sourced from other Nigerian operatives and from Thailand via Kerala. Both operations highlight coordinated efforts by Indian law enforcement to disrupt inter‑district and trans‑national drug trafficking networks.
