India police seize over 700 kg of cannabis in Assam and Rajasthan
Assam police seized 669.7 kg of suspected marijuana at the cargo terminal of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. Four men – a resident of Tripura and three from Meghalaya's West Khasi Hills – were arrested. Investigators said the drugs had been moved from Meghalaya’s West Khasi Hills via Jorabat and were slated for delivery to Punjab, Delhi and Haryana using courier services.
In Rajasthan, the Anti‑Narcotics Task Force seized 47.3 kg of cannabis worth around Rs 25 lakh in Sawai Madhopur district and arrested two men from Fariya village. Police linked the consignment to a six‑year trafficking operation that sourced cannabis from Odisha and supplied Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Both raids highlight a broader inter‑state drug‑trafficking network under investigation.
