India Post announces recruitment for 25,000+ Gramin Dak Sevak posts
The Department of Posts, under India's Ministry of Communications, has announced the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-II for July 2026. The recruitment drive aims to fill more than 25,000 vacancies for positions including Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak across various postal circles in India.
Selection for these roles will not involve a conventional written examination. Instead, a merit list will be generated based on marks obtained in the Class 10 Secondary School Examination. For candidates using a grading system, the department will convert grades into marks using a 9.5 multiplication factor.
Eligible candidates must be between 18 and 40 years of age and have completed Class 10 with proficiency in Mathematics, English, and the local language. Applicants are restricted to applying for vacancies within a single selected Division. One-time online registration is scheduled to begin on August 31, 2026, with the application window open from September 2 to September 21, 2026. The pay scale for these positions ranges from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 29,380.
