India Post deploys drones for last-mile delivery in remote regions

India Post has implemented drone technology to facilitate last-mile delivery in geographically challenging regions, such as Assam and Himachal Pradesh. The initiative aims to overcome obstacles like mountains, floods, and limited road connectivity that frequently disrupt traditional mail delivery methods.

By utilizing drones, the postal service can significantly reduce delivery times for mail and essential services in remote areas. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu and Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia have both highlighted the technological shift, noting that the use of drones represents a major advancement in national postal connectivity and supports India's goal of becoming a global drone hub.
