India promotes sports infrastructure and youth engagement in Tripura and Mizoram

Government officials in India are emphasizing the development of sports infrastructure and youth engagement in the states of Tripura and Mizoram.

In Tripura, Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma inaugurated a state-level Under-17 girls’ football competition in Khowai. He stated that the state government is committed to improving sports infrastructure and maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against drugs to ensure youth are guided positively.

In Mizoram, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Raksha Khadse conducted review meetings in the Saitual and Kolasib districts. The discussions focused on implementing Central Government schemes, enhancing sports infrastructure through the Khelo India Scheme, and improving agricultural market access. Khadse also highlighted the importance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan to prevent substance abuse among youth through community coordination and peer-led awareness.
