India pursues Viksit Bharat 2047 development vision

India is pursuing the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision, a national goal to transform the country into a developed nation by 2047. Economic projections from NITI Aayog suggest an economy of approximately $30 trillion and a per capita income exceeding $18,000 by that year.

Beyond economic metrics, the vision encompasses inclusive growth, sustainability, education, innovation, and improved living standards. Experts suggest that for the goal to be truly successful, the framework must include measurable indicators of societal quality, such as access to clean water, air quality, food security, safety, and justice.

In Manipur, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla emphasized that the younger generation plays a critical role in achieving both the Viksit Bharat and Viksit Manipur 2047 targets. During an awards ceremony, he highlighted that the participation of youth and the pursuit of excellence in various fields are essential to meeting these national priorities.
